Japan:

Tada0 Ando's

2019

Image Making

Shots captured at various particular locations during a trip to Japan to document the works of Tadao Ando.

I came to know Ando’s work by chance, during a trip to Japan with an Architect friend.

Ando’s work was nothing short of amazing. His style consists of the use of concrete and bare minimalist walls. With that he bring focus to the form buildings, drawing out an emotional impact in his works. And by using a simple but elegant play of geometric forms with light, shadow and space, it is often as if his work breathes on its own allowing visitors to ponder in the space and the passing of time through the natural light changing at parts of the days.

With that, I took the liberty to document some of his works. Taking in experiences at the locations and translating them visually with the play of geometry, light and space.
